In May 1886, after the devastation of the Civil War, the Ohio Legislature created the Veterans Service Commission and authorized County Commissioners to raise the necessary levy, not to exceed 5/10 of a mill per dollar on assessed property value within the county, for funding the Veterans Service Office.

The Veterans Service Commission's function is to oversee the operation of the Veterans Service Office, to provide temporary financial assistance to Veterans, dependent children and surviving widows of Honorably discharged Veterans.

The Noble County Veterans Service Commission is focused on providing high-quality service and customer satisfaction - we will do everything within our ability to help our Veterans obtain benefits from Federal, State and Local agencies.
